First-class family holidays

The Grand Green Familux Resort is part of the world’s first and only luxury hotel group catering exclusively for families with children, offering epic escapes to the Thuringian Forest.

Situated in the Oberhof winter sports region, the Grand Green Familux Resort literally towers over the landscape of the Thuringian Forest and captivates visitors at first glance with its modern half-timbered architecture, which blends perfectly into the surroundings in spite of its impressive size. Sited on a four-hectare plot, the Grand Green hotel boasts a gross floor area of almost 23,000 square metres, including more than 100 suites and several chalets, all of which leave nothing to be desired.

The premium family hotel was built by PAB Architekten under the direction of Dr Krista Blassy from Erfurt on behalf of the Austrian Mayer Family Hotels Group, which also runs three other – in some cases award-winning – family hotels in Germany and Austria.

Sustainable active and wellness holidays

Families can enjoy a sustainable active and wellness-based holiday in the heart of Germany, surrounded by stunning countryside – having fun and relaxing together as they indulge in some quality family time. After all, one of the keys to the hotel’s success is the age-appropriate all-round service it offers for its guests, which is provided seven days a week by qualified staff for children from the age of seven.

Everything you could possibly want

In addition to extensive sauna and wellness facilities, the Grand Green resort also features a 2,000-square-metre indoor play area, water slides, an infinity pool, a theatre, a cinema, a go-kart track, a petting zoo and a cross-country skiing hall, as well as adventure playgrounds, a forest nature trail and a ski slope right on the doorstep.

A natural feel-good atmosphere for guests of all ages

Thanks to the carefully conceived and child-friendly interior design, along with the modern yet cosy décor and the use of plenty of natural wood and sustainable materials, guests of all ages feel completely at home at the Grand Green resort. Furniture and walls in warm brown hues are combined with lots of green plants and eye-catching details evoking memories of woodland and nature, while conveying a sense of peace and relaxation. Panoramic windows let in plenty of light to create bright and transparent interior spaces, while amusing drawings add colourful touches to the décor.

The coordinated and nature-inspired design is rounded off with a harmonious lighting concept and a combination of black Troldtekt acoustic panels and pale wooden strips on the ceilings.
